Doechii is paying a heartfelt tribute to Lauryn Hill after their memorable efficiency on the One Musicfest in Miami.
The rap icon stunned the viewers by introducing the Florida native for a shock duet of “Doo Wop (That Factor)” on Saturday (March 8).
“I need to introduce y’all to a different sister,” Hill introduced earlier than welcoming Doechii to the stage.
After the memorable collab, Doechii took to Instagram to provide Lauryn Hill her flowers. She wrote about Hill’s lasting impression on her creative journey alongside a carousel that includes footage from their efficiency.
“The primary full size album I ever listened to was The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill,” Doechii started. “My mother would play it from prime to backside on a regular basis on my technique to faculty for years. I’d sing your songs as if I wrote them, imagining myself on stage. Every music deepened my love for music and my curiosity to put in writing raps.”
She continued, “I carried your rules with me throughout my coming of age. And I carry them with me now at this present stage of my profession.”
Expressing her gratitude, Doechii referred to as the expertise “the best honor hip hop may give me,” and mentioned, “Thanks Miss Lauryn Hill. Reward God.”
The tribute marked a reflective second for Doechii following current controversies surrounding her remarks on relationship.
She revealed that her largest relationship pink flag is “a straight man” throughout a current “Sizzling Ones Versus” look with DJ Miss Milan.
